Tapestry is a very disciplined art form. The loom dictates the boundaries, the limitations. If you get halfway through a tapestry and you've made a mistake, you can't paint over it, you can't polish it a bit more. You have to know what you're doing at every stage.

Textile art allows for richness (and longevity) of colour, form becomes flexible within the borders of the discipline and...TEXTURE. Textile art has TEXTURE..................... T E X T U R E..........
In the series 'Natures Nuances' (CREATED IN 2004/5) I have played with the rhythms of textures presenting a very tactile experience. The varieties of materials available to me allow me to mimic the sensitivities of touch with which we assault our minds and emotions.Even the mechanisms of blending different yarns together as I am weaving becomes a synthesis of sensitivity and a journey into memories of tactile events and occasions in my life.
